I really love your game but newer versions specially September build is not running on my phone older builds were fine game slows down to 1/2 fps it get stuck can you fix this issue please

Hello, Noctis. Sorry about that happening, I'll try my best for the November public release to fix that issue. I think it was fixed since then but I didn't release a public build in a while

I tried September build on Android 11( device was realme 5 pro 8gb ram) & Android 13 (device was oppo a96 8gb ram) both were snapdragon processors when will November build come out ?

Hello, sorry, got pretty sick last week when I intended to release a public build. I will release a public build this week and I'll ping you.

Thank you very much hope you're doing ok now get well soon

Thanks a lot for your very kind words. Actually, if you have a discord, you can contact me at ".sugarmint" and I might be able to share an Android build with newer content sooner. Feedback on Android would help me a lot.

The downloadable PC demo is completely unusable on an ultrawide monitor.  It forces itself to full screen/full resolution, at which point the "Next" button on the demo blurb becomes inaccessible.  All you can do is hit ALT-F4 to kill the game.  I even tried creating a shortcut with -window-mode borderless -screen-width 2560 -screen-height 1440 added to "Target", as well as some other command line options to prevent it from going full screen.  Those worked until it reached the demo blurb and it was forced to full screen/full resolution again.

Hello. Thank you very much for reporting this issue, I didn't know the game is forced to run in full screen.

I apologize for having to go through all that (the command line arguments), I checked right now and if `Fullscreen` is unchecked here

Then the game will run windowed, but it won't be possible to select this while the demo popup shows up indeed.

It's strange that  Unity doesn't handle this by itself, by creating a letterbox effect on ultrawide.

Do you see the game UI entirely stretched to the edges of the monitor? Or how was the "Next" button hidden?

Thanks for the quick reply, and sorry if I came across as harsh last night.  I was a little grouchy.

It looks like it's zooming until the screen is filled horizontally, cutting off the top and bottom of what's displayed:

Weirdly, my messing with command line arguments last night must've gotten the game's settings (stored in AppData?) into a more usable state.  I had deleted the game last night, but when I extracted it from the zip file again this morning to get the screenshot it kicked into a 2560x1440 window despite the fullscreen checkbox being checked.  Toggling the checkbox put it into fullscreen but still at 2560x1440.  I had to explicitly choose 3440x1440 to show what I was seeing last night.

I think that might be because I'm making the game run by default at the highest resolution when you start it for the first time, because many players weren't picking the highest resolution and were seeing a low quality/pixelated version of the game.

And no worries, you didn't seem grouchy and I appreciate the bug report because my goal is to have a very polished game in anticipation for the next year's Steam release.

I can try to check on first startup if the user has an ultrawide screen, or at least instead of defaulting to the absolute highest resolution to instead default to the highest resolution that's not ultrawide (16:9 ideally, because the UI is designed for that) 🤔

Amazing that you can address this comment, but not my comment about how much you gutted the demo version, and in particular how in the past you said, "I'd try in the future to make it possible to import/export saves in WebGL," and that somehow turned into removing the ability to save entirely.

(-1)

Gutted the demo version? The demo version wasn't meant to be "here, you can play 90% of the content for free!" It was supposed to hint at the content available in the full content builds which it's still doing by showing some post-ISA content as well, but not in a linear way that would remove any kind of reason to even consider supporting the game because most people aren't going to pay for something that offers the same thing they can get for free.

There'll be a full 1.0 release next year on Steam, so people who don't want to deal with monthly subscriptions on Patreon will be able to buy the game once. Anyone who supported me enough to pay for the base price of the game will also be able to request a key, so I'm not sure if what you're complaining about is maybe not being able to play the full game for free?

I didn't say anything about playing the full game for free. All I pointed out is that the demo used to only be limited by being one update behind the paid version. Now, it's also limited by removing a whole lot of content, including a basic feature like saving. A feature that you originally said you were going to make better, until you apparently decided to not do that and just removed it instead. I understand that the "one update behind" model isn't very sustainable when you get close to full release, but there are better ways to limit a demo besides removing a bunch of content.

I fully understand not wanting the demo to be equal to the paid version, and I never said it should be. However, the way the demo is now, it's not going to be able to fulfill its purpose very well. Most people coming to this game will be here for the sex, and if most of that is removed and/or censored, they won't be able to properly form an opinion on said content. Also, with no saving, players are forced to try to play as much as they can in a single sitting, and they might not be able to make much progress, which will also prevent them from forming an accurate opinion.

The better way would be to do what most video game demos do: have a cutoff point where you can't play any further, but have all the content that's available in the playable part. For example, if a game has 10 chapters, the demo might let players play through the first 2 chapters in their entirety. This provides the best way for players to properly judge what the content of the game is like and decide if they want to see the rest or not.

Thank you for giving your reasonable thoughts on this. The issue with your approach is that there's a diverse range of content and if the players can only see what was available in the ISA, they wouldn't know that there's alien content as well.

The demo is however meant to be short, taking the player from NSFW scene to NSFW scene. I think there are about 7-8 NSFW scenes available right now in the demo, and each of them is supposed to hint to the player what they can actually expect in terms of NSFW content, which wouldn't be possible if only one chapter or two chapters as you say was/were available.

No NSFW scene should really be censored in the demo as it is, so I'm not sure what you mean by this. There are descriptions in-between memories as to what might have happened so the player gets an idea of what other scenes there could be.

Most people coming to this game will be here for the sex, and if most of that is removed and/or censored, they won't be able to properly form an opinion on said content.

The saving being locked, that's inspired from a demo of a very successful game, but it's not just a "personal choice", it's also a technical need because the save the player could make when they're teleported across the game to see different scenes would likely have bugs when loaded in the full build for example.

I'll think about it, maybe the demo for the Steam build will be different. If you're a solo dev and you try to provide an incentive for people to support you in getting anywhere near completion of the project, you have to try different ways because as it was the public builds weren't really doing anything at all, because people could just wait.

(+5)(-1)

Will there be impreg?

(+11)

It's been a few months since I've played this. Why are there now so many restrictions on the public version? Before, the only difference was that the public version was behind the paid version. Now, in addition to that, some scenes are removed, some scenes are "censored," and even the basic feature of saving has been taken away. Last time I was here, you were going to look into a way to add the ability to import and export saves, so how did that turn into removing saves entirely?

(+10)

Still wondering about this, and the lack of a response is concerning.

Hi, i started to play the original game recently, i kinda like the graphics and the paperdoll system so i would like to ask it will be ever get updated or if it is discontinued for the 2d version?

(-2)

If there would be enough demand in terms of support (financial one as well), with more "manpower" as contractors the development of the text game could also be resumed, but currently there's not enough to make that happen.

(1 edit) (+1)(-2)

one question, but what if there is going to be a mode where Malevolent Planet 2D  goes all nudist and what if there is going to be a level where everyone will be naked in a nudist planet?

Why is android only part 1?

All the platforms at the time were part one.

will android get the update as well? Or patron only?

So the public build has these platforms:

  • Windows
  • MacOS
  • WebGL
  • Android

The patron build also has the same platforms. Wait, what apk are you referring to? It appears by accident I left a previous apk downloadable, but it's not supposed to be there so I disabled downloading for it. Now only the part 1 will be seen for the android platform.

I finished, going to bed. After that ot was a pay wall.

I can't say much, because I have only just tried game. But I noticed, once I went to bed game ended ilunless I paid.

(+1)(-2)

one question what if there is a nudist zone in this game?

(2 edits)

So, I'm new here, and this might be a silly question, but I downloaded the windows version and extracted the files in the same folder on my computer and loaded the game. But it got stuck on the malevolent logo screen time after time. Not sure why but am I missing some other file? Is there a way I need to download this, because I know it shouldn't be complicated.

Edited: Okay, so I decided to download it again but this time from the Patreon link. And it worked, not sure why it didn't work from this website link.

(-1)

That's pretty strange, I just gave it a try and it loaded successfully. Did you get some kind of warning if you want to extract or run this file the first time? Maybe it didn't extract something that could've led to the logo freezing.

(+1)

so is the original abandoned?

(+2)(-1)

No, I frequently ask patrons/people to send me their wishes/desires to see a new release for the text game but I rarely get them so I am trying to continue on with the 2D game's development because it appears to get more reach and the 2 games can cross market each other due to different audiences (text game players, 2d game players) groups that don't conjoin very much.

I think the nurse stuff is really bugged. I got a good score from every single patient, but at the end, Morris said we had a low score. When Emma was recapping the day in her room, she mentioned that she refused to let a guy grope her and that she refused the boobjob, even though I let all of that happen.

(+1)

Sorry for the delay, I was on vacation. The standards for getting a high score are pretty high I remember, you need to not really make any mistakes. If you want, can drop me a save right before you talk to Morris and I can check what the score was.

Well, I'm playing the browser version, and I don't see a way to download saves. But as far as I remember, every customer left happy. I don't think I made any mistakes.

(+1)

Yes, there's no way to download saves on the browser version because they're saved in the local storage in the browser and it's a bit messy. I'd try in the future to make it possible to import/export saves in WebGL.

I'll check it out and see if everyone's happy if I still reach the bad ending, thanks for the report :)

(+1)

I was doing some testing now and I picked most of the favorable choices and it led me to this. When you succeeded in the rounds, did Morris congratulate you or did he seem tired?

I can't remember what he said at the end of each round, but he congratulated me after each individual patient. I made sure to follow all the steps correctly for the "normal" patients, and for the "sexual" patients, they always left happy.

(+1)

Do you remember a guy who told you he'd guarantee you a good score/ending if you did him a favor? Do you remember what choice you made there?

(+1)

How i get all the lesbians scenes?

(+1)

Did you play the latest build? There's a lesbian scene in the ending of this build's content.

(+1)

Yes, the day 3.0 but i dont get the shower scene with the brown hair girl, and after the classroom mission i go to sleep as show the patrion

(+1)

The brown hair girl is still in early access, there'll be a public build with that in about 3 months I think. There are plenty of reasons for this, including the fact that WebGL is a bit buggier.

After the update i can’t leave the doctors office anymore after the leader/follower interview.

I can’t enter the shower for the shower scene from an old safe either.

Can you check that?

(+1)

Sure, can you also tell me if you experienced the bug with the doctors' office from an older save or was it a fresh playthrough?

I would say both. But it worked this time. So maybe loading an old save and then starting a new game does it? IDK.

Yeah, bugs like this are the worst and you can probably see why. It's definitely possible that an older save broke it because there have been some changes in the first few minutes of the gameplay.

You could release the 2d as an Html download that all OSs can use. Android users need to download joiplay from the google play store to play Html files, but if we're here then we should already know that much.

It would undoubtedly be easier for you to just add graphics to your existing story than to start from scratch.

Just a thought...

Have fun.

The 2D game can't be played locally as a HTML file without launching a local webserver. https://forum.unity.com/threads/how-to-manually-start-a-localhost-version-of-web...

There's an APK in the attachments isn't there? No need for joiplay.

If by existing story you mean the text game, there are already graphics there including scenes and so on but it got too difficult to maintain as a single developer because it's written in JavaScript and a ton of testing is involved to fix some annoying bugs. However, there'll be an update to the text game sooner or later.

Oohhh, I get it.

(1 edit)

Yeah, ima back out now

I don't know what happened, but all of the tabs don't close in the mobile version

Wow that's strange, what browser?

(+1)

There's basically no content yet and what does exist is super glitchy. All interactable objects turn into pink boxes, you can't drag unequip clothing, and sometimes dialogue choices freeze the game. My suggestion is to scrap the walk around rpg thing and make it a kind of point and click room exploration + VN game. It'll be much easier and faster to implement and have far less lag and bugs. Also, please don't put patreon only content in Itch preview images.

The pink boxes, you most likely played on Android right?

Yes, I did. It's not really an issue for me, that was more of a bug report.

(+1)

The issues you listed are likely related to the android device you're playing on, at least the graphical issues and the dialogue choices that freeze the game.

Sadly, it's too late to change the engine to something like Ren'py for a point and click room exploration style. However, I can change the way navigation works on android through point and click if you think that's better.

I'm also working alone on this and it's difficult for me to see why on some android devices the graphical issue appears. If you can, feel free to drop me your device.

Also, regarding the patreon only content in itch preview images, it's not really intended to be anything malicious. For a good amount of time, there wasn't much or any growth in support for development and I've been trying any way to make development sustainable. If income wasn't such a trouble, many of the issues you listed above wouldn't be a problem because I'd actually have enough time to take care of most of them and at the same time I wouldn't need to go to any lengths to "entice" players to "patron-only" content.

It may look malicious or "not nice", but well, that content isn't functional in WebGL right now regardless.

Is this game abandoned or still in development?

(+1)

It's not abandoned, you can check my Patreon for status updates.

Game has a lot of potential and is pretty good for what is currently implemented. My only complaint so far is the chibi characters moving unnaturally and not being very expressive. Body Customization is not present unlike in the text game but that's probably on your to-do list already, haven't found any bugs on my gameplay (I'm on Android) and I'm looking forward towards seeing what the combat is gonna look like.

(+1)

Thanks for the feedback :) The chibi characters have been redesigned in a build that's not public yet, so the movement may be more natural. Check this post out if you would like to see what's planned https://www.patreon.com/posts/malevolent-77497184

(+1)

What did you mean by chibi characters not being very expressive?

I mean the map characters having a very blank/neutral expression which looked kinda weird but didn't bother me that much.

(+1)

Do you have examples of games where chibi/map characters have more expressions than just the neutral one? 🤔

(+3)(-1)

So far I still like the HTML version better, sorry.

(+1)(-1)

There's a lot more content and mechanics in the text game of course, but do you see potential in the 2d format?

While that is true, I don't believe it contributes to our current dislike towards this version. The content and mechanic will surely be moved to this game and as it is still the same, I don't think we'd have (and personally I'd have) a problem with it. I do have a bias towards HTML games so I personally don't see the potential in the 2d format. I believe the HTML format is simpler and easier to navigate through. Not just mechanic wise but story wise as well.

Which is why I have a question. Will you be focusing solely on this format and abandon the HTML one? Or are you focusing on both and will continue updating the HTML aside from working on developing this?

(+3)

I'm planning to update both, with more focus on 2D to reduce burnout from writing a ton of text. Thank you for sharing your feedback :)

No sound and i am not sure if the game quality even changes?

(+4)

The video options are not very thorough right now, so I'll look into how they work.

There's no sound right now because I didn't decide on a soundtrack (free) that fits the mood, but there'll be in the future.

It's kinda glitchy-I got to the treadmill test and then it just kept repeating text boxes.

I did download it, to try to make it work better, but no luck. (Windows here.)

It looks decent, though!

It's been hotfixed, but I didn't upload the build because I wasn't sure if it breaks anything.

If you move away from the treadmill before you press space once you finish the sequence, it won't start it again. If you use mouse clicks to skip dialogue and don't accidentally click the treadmill it won't start it again.

Okay, got it working. And got to the end of the demo.

It's pretty bare-bones, but the art is good! Is this intended to be a visual novel type game, or more gameplay than that?

(+1)

There are plans for a turn based combat system and more features related to space navigation in the future, but they'll take time to develop. I'm glad you like the art :)

Sounds good. I'll keep my peepers on this game.

Good luck with the creation process! :)

Thanks :)

there isn't really much to do at the moment but I do think it has a lot of potential to be a fun game. I do hope a save option is added some time in the future. the art style is neat 👍

Hey! Thanks for your feedback. What platform are you playing on? There's a save feature in the pause menu, but it might be hard to see on some devices.

In case you were playing on Android, it should work now.

(1 edit)

Really nice game here and I am glad that you made an Android version as well.

I played on Android and noticed a couple of problems:

- if I disable fullscreen the game screen stretches out and I can't click again on fullscreen to make it look normal, I have to exit the game;

- can't choose a different resolution for game

- can't choose a different graphic quality

- while inside the game, I couldn't access the menu by clicking || at the top left

- game doesn't have a save file so if I exit or minimize the game and I come back, the game starts over.

- game doesn't have a customized icon once installed (for Android)

The 2D sprites are serviceable.

I do like very much the full 2D art tho in the game.

(+1)

Hello! Thanks a lot for your feedback. Can you send me a screenshot from your device?

- if I disable fullscreen the game screen stretches out and I can't click again on fullscreen to make it look normal, I have to exit the game;

+ on my device, it does work, so it might be an issue with the available screen size. that's why the screenshot would help.

- can't choise a different resolution for game

+ it's available in the pause menu, accessible by clicking the | | menu. I need to find a way to show it better.

- can't choose a different graphic quality

+ same as above

- while inside the game, I couldn't access the menu by clicking || at the top left

+ that seems to happen on my android device as well. checking it out

- game doesn't have a save file so if I exit or minimize the game and I come back, the game starts over.

+ related to not being able to access the menu, sorry.

- game doesn't have a customized icon once installed (for Android)

+ working on it

Playing on Huawei P40 lite

(+1)

I'm replacing the .APK file available on itch and Patreon. The pause panel should work now and I limited the available screen size to support more devices.

(2 edits)

Hi, the game has an icon now, which is nice.

About the Pause button. My Phone has a feature/option to "Show fullscreen" for games and apps. When I first started your game. I didn't had that option. Without using that option the Pause button still doesn't work but if I use it, it works flawlessly.

Despite the above feature, if I disable the fullscreen from Options, the screen still streches out.

The ability to save works.

I think that I can't change resolution because of the "Fullscreen" being ticked. Despite that, no my what I select, as Resolution it will always show 640 x 400. Same goes for "Graphics Quality". No matter what I select, it will always show "Fastest".

So, it wasn't a matter of not being able to select resolution and graphical quality, it is a matter of them not showing the selection correctly, as seen in the following screenshot:

I noted other two bugs, probably failing to notice before:

- the "Credits" button will basically start the game instead of showing the credits,

- the "Quit" (Main menu), respectively "Quit Game" (Pause menu) button doesn't work.

I noticed that in my copy of the game at least, the clickable objects are in a pink block. I though that it was by design but looking at the gameplay video from your Discord, it seems that it isn't.

Screenshot:

Sorry, itch didn't update me about your reply. The android version will get more attention in regards to these issues, but I'm developing this alone for now so it might take a bit. I'm aware about the pink textures, it didn't happen on my own android device but it happened on a friend's so they're a bit strange.

I'll come back with an update when I work on your bugreports to keep you updated on the progress, thanks!
